About Just - A manifesto

We protect human rights by amplifying local initiatives to help people in need.  We believe in the power of an original vision that emerges from people in their local context. We nourish and guide rooted initiatives with the help of international actors. We join efforts with national authorities to meet human rights standards.

As international non-governmental organization, we partner with homegrown organizations, together we create sustainable transformations: we help to envision, design and implement projects. We provide expertise and resources to build capacity. We assist in fund-raising to encourage and realize programs that foster human rights. Our approach is advisory rather then authoritative, we strive to instill lasting change, not only temporary fixes.

Trust and transparency are the foundations for creating impact with our work. By building trust in our local partners, we are able to support the day-to-day work, channel project ideas to project funds, give meaningful long-term advice, and bring international expertise to local areas of intervention.

Maintaining strong ties with intergovernmental organizations and international donors, just acts as the matchmaker of international programs, national authorities and local reformers: being embedded into local NGO landscapes we have the knowledge and experience to recommend local partners, design programs that implant human rights standards in the real context and monitor, report and evaluate project progress and outcomes.

Just is a catalyst of change that gives leverage to original initiatives, a bridge between international actors and local change- makers, a connection between practical intervention and strategic transformation. Ultimately, we strive to sustainably protect human rights in areas of need through a network of local and international partners.
